about us.

Market street feed was founded by J.D. Adams in 1942 when Market Street Feed was just a shell road. He ran it until 1963, which was bought by Joe Cox and his wife. The year 1979, I (Randy After) started mowing the property at the age of 15, never expecting the outcome of this teenage job. On February 28th 1980, Joe Cox hired me as an employee. I really enjoyed working for Joe Cox and the Feed Store business. After 24 years, Joe Cox passed away, and I become the proud owner of Market Street Feed on January 1st, 2004. I was taught the value of running a successful business. Over the years time has changed, new products, new customers and new cliental. I have learned that you have to keep up with time no matter how you are in your set ways. I have made many changes on the looks of the store over the years, but the theme will be the same, old rustic wooden floor, old inviting atmosphere, with antiques hanging on the walls. Over the years we've had school filed strips come through the old style country feed store.

Going there to buy our dog some dog food. Met Randy at the White elephant flea market this weekend. He was very nice and helpful one chance encounter and he now has a new soon to be long time customer. Hard to find good customer service with nice people now days. Also we like to support our local small businesses.

I worked here when I was 17 years old. I learned a lot of things about business and life here. Randy, the current owner, was my supervisor at the time. He may not be a veterinarian, but 90% of the time he has some old remedy there you can use for your dogs, cats or livestock. The store has been completely restored with a different look and I believe Joe would be proud of the way the store looks now. It's a great place to just go look for things instead of heading to the hardware store of pet store.
